Right now, all of the buzz for OnePlus is centering around the OnePlus 10 Pro and the rumored OnePlus 10T. The Oneplus 10T looks like it might just be a rebrand of an existing Oppo phone. That should come as no surprise because both of those companies are so closely tied together.

The OnePlus 9 now has the May 2022 security patch

Right now, Google is on the June security patch and companies like Samsung are already ahead of the game. Because of this, it seems weird that OnePlus is using last month’s security patch. In all honesty, it’s not the worst thing, but that leaves the phone open for attack with newer security vulnerabilities. This security patch adds some necessary stability and bug fixes that should bring a notable change to the experience. This patch did recently roll out, but it was exclusive to the Indian market. Now, it’s available to all of the markets. The changelog doesn’t point to any security vulnerabilities being patched up, and that’s a bit worrying. The most important thing about the security patches is having holes in your phone’s security filled to keep your data and identity safe. While there’s no word on the security front, we know that there are some fixes to the system, camera, and other corners of the software. For starters, the issue that caused the camera to crash suddenly has been fixed. Also, photos now show the correct location information. Other issues include the apps randomly clearing in the background and the occasional calling issue. The update fixes those issues along with some others that are in the software. If you own a OnePlus 9, you should see the update reach your phone soon.
